About John Partridge

John Partridge is a lecturer in German and Linguistics at the University of Kent at Canterbury and is currently the secretary of the Forum for Germanic Language Studies. He has published on performative verbs, the pragmatics of apologies, computer applications in language studies and linguistic strategies in crosswords. He is currently engaged in examining discourse accent and focus in English and German.
